Duke Energy employees pitch in for park

A huge shout-out to the over 150 Duke Energy Volunteers who came from all over the state to help build the 3 mile Mountain Bike Trail at Farris Memorial Park!

The volunteers helped clear trail, cut roots, prune trees, and even built a map kiosk for us. Not only that – they had a good time in our community – with many of them vowing to come back with their families and friends to visit Mayodan and Farris Memorial Park.

Many thanks to Tony McGee of Blue Ridge Trail Works, Jenny Edwards of Dan River Basin Association, and Bob from Hands on Charlotte for organizing the volunteer days.

With the work accomplished on the two work days we are almost finished – look for a grand opening announcement soon.
