The Town of Mayodan is governed by a Council-Manager form of government which includes a Mayor and five Council Members. The Mayor serves a two year term and Town Council serve a staggered term of four years. The Mayor is the presiding officer and does not vote unless the vote is tied. In the absence or disability of the Mayor, the Mayor Pro Tem, (a Council Member) is selected from its members and performs the Mayoral duties. The Council sets and directs policies and the Town Manager is the Chief Executive Officer of the Town and is responsible for the execution of those policies. Regular town elections are held on Tuesday after the first Monday in November every two years.
The Mayodan Town Council meets the 2nd Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are located in the Mayodan Town Council Chambers, Mayodan Town Hall, 210 West Main Street.
If you would like to present an issue to the Town Council at an upcoming meeting, please contact the Town Clerk at 336-427-0241 at least one week prior to the meeting. Time is also set aside for citizens to speak during each Council Meeting. Please sign up when you arrive prior to the meeting.
