The Town of Mayodan seeks an experienced individual to serve as the Finance Director, performing professional and administrative work planning, organizing and directing the Town’s financial activities including, but not limited to; supervision of tax collections, accounts payable/receivable and payroll; disbursement and accounting of municipal funds; preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports; works with staff and governing body in preparation and administration of operating and capital budgets; manages receipt and investment of all Town revenues; assist auditors during annual audit and preparation of financial statements; reports to the governing body regarding the financial condition of the Town and prepares budget amendments; assist with grant administration. Thorough knowledge of North Carolina General Statutes and ordinances governing municipal financial practices and procedures including municipal accounting and budgeting.

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance is preferred. Directly related field work and a minimum of 5 years experience, preferably in a local government setting and two years of supervisory experience are also desired.

Must possess a valid NC driver’s license and ability to attend evening meetings. The successful applicant must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background investigation, and credit check. Salary range begins at $42,782; however, salary will be commensurate with experience and education.
