RFLOI Now Open: Business US-220 Multi-Use Path

Engineering Firms Invited to Submit Letters of Interest

The Town of Mayodan is soliciting Letters of Interest (LOIs) from qualified engineering firms to provide preliminary engineering and design services for a proposed multi-use path along US 220 Business, extending from Madison Street in downtown Mayodan to the entrance of Mayo River State Park (NCDOT TIP# EB-5891).

This is a federally funded, locally administered project (LAP) under NCDOT's Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP), with total available funding of $8,760,000 and a maximum federal award of $7,008,000.

Services will include preliminary engineering, survey, and environmental documentation; design of the multi-use path, including drainage, erosion control, and ADA-compliant crossings; right-of-way plan preparation; and a final plans, specifications, and estimate (PS&E) package suitable for NCDOT review and bid solicitation.

How to Submit

LOIs must be received electronically and by mail no later than 12:00 PM on October 2, 2026. LOIs received after this deadline will not be considered.

LOIs are limited to 15 pages (cover sheet and RS-2 forms excluded), single-spaced, one-sided, with no binders, dividers, or tabs. Eight (8) total copies of the LOI should be submitted. Submittals that don't meet all requirements will be disqualified — no exceptions.
